To all SPM 2011 leavers who obtained the coveted 9A+ and above read on(others please read on as well), you guys WILL and I mean WILL get bursaries to enter local pre-university courses.

My advice for those who are ineligible SPM results like say obtained  9As, 10As or even 8As but no total of 9A+s, still try to apply for the scholarship. There's no harm in doing so and its easy cause you do it online. The main reason and logic behind this is because even though there's 1609 eligible students, it's very very very unlikely all of them will take this opportunity. Some might have already gone overseas paid with their own finances. Others might find the universities under the scholarship aren't of their liking whereas others might have other BETTER scholarships ready. So if the Education Ministry prepared that many scholarships, that would be leftovers for other good SPM scorers. They might also consider you if you have an outstanding co-curriculum history.  So why not give it a shot, it's better than doing nothing.

I tried do the kemaskini on Bursary Pelajar Cemerlang SPM Tahun 2011 but I get this error.

I know I'm not eligible but I thought it's OK for me to at least try. There's no way to plead or complain because as stated in their FAQs, only those with 9A+s can be in the list. Now the only thing I can hope is they decided to change their policy or even their system to allow others to fill in and at least try their luck. Sure there are others like myself who need financial aid.

Became a Nuffnanger

Today, I've joined Nuffnang, Asia Pacific's First Blog Advertising Community and became a newbie Nuffnanger. I got to know this community as they call it through The Star once again HERE. Due to the benefit of earning a side income from doing what I like to do, I decided to join in the band wagon. Sign up procedure is pretty simple with the basic information requested including the payee. From what I've read from their Q&As, terms & conditions and such, Bloggers(me included) earn revenue when we serve paid ads from Nuffnang's advertisers. These advertisers will select us base on our something they call a Blogger Bio - basically its about you and what you blog. Minimum cashout is RM 50 by post and currently only available in Malaysia, Philippines, Australia, Thailand and Singapore.

All set up and ready to go! Now lets see the development in the coming weeks(maybe months...). I'll give my input then.

First Time Feel of an Earthquake Aftershock

At about 4.00p.m. today, I felt a slight wavering of my screen while reading The Star e-paper. My seat felt light moving up and down a bit too. The first thing that came into my mind was my wall fan causing it but its just a ordinary fan... I didn't thought of an earthquake actually happening far away. Then, after my basketball game that evening, my mom told me about the feeling as well. She was alone in the office at the time and thought there was a ghost possessing her office table as it kept shaking so she smacked the table - no effect = =', it kept shaking. She even thought she was dreaming. Later on, she found out a real earthquake just happened through a friend.

Apparently, a magnitude 8.6 earthquake occurred off the Indian Ocean that afternoon. It sent aftershocks even to Peninsular Malaysia where I felt it. There's even reports of an imminent tsunami hitting Penang island. I checked my FB news listing and I wasn't the only one. Here are a few of my friends quotes on what they felt:

That was really a first aftershock I ever felt, even my mom agreed. Only thing left is to await reports on the damage ...and the chaos...if any(hope not).
