Became a Nuffnanger

Today, I've joined Nuffnang, Asia Pacific's First Blog Advertising Community and became a newbie Nuffnanger. I got to know this community as they call it through The Star once again HERE. Due to the benefit of earning a side income from doing what I like to do, I decided to join in the band wagon. Sign up procedure is pretty simple with the basic information requested including the payee. From what I've read from their Q&As, terms & conditions and such, Bloggers(me included) earn revenue when we serve paid ads from Nuffnang's advertisers. These advertisers will select us base on our something they call a Blogger Bio - basically its about you and what you blog. Minimum cashout is RM 50 by post and currently only available in Malaysia, Philippines, Australia, Thailand and Singapore.

All set up and ready to go! Now lets see the development in the coming weeks(maybe months...). I'll give my input then.

First Time Feel of an Earthquake Aftershock

At about 4.00p.m. today, I felt a slight wavering of my screen while reading The Star e-paper. My seat felt light moving up and down a bit too. The first thing that came into my mind was my wall fan causing it but its just a ordinary fan... I didn't thought of an earthquake actually happening far away. Then, after my basketball game that evening, my mom told me about the feeling as well. She was alone in the office at the time and thought there was a ghost possessing her office table as it kept shaking so she smacked the table - no effect = =', it kept shaking. She even thought she was dreaming. Later on, she found out a real earthquake just happened through a friend.

Apparently, a magnitude 8.6 earthquake occurred off the Indian Ocean that afternoon. It sent aftershocks even to Peninsular Malaysia where I felt it. There's even reports of an imminent tsunami hitting Penang island. I checked my FB news listing and I wasn't the only one. Here are a few of my friends quotes on what they felt:

That was really a first aftershock I ever felt, even my mom agreed. Only thing left is to await reports on the damage ...and the chaos...if any(hope not).

Making it More Comfortable to Read

Today, I've decided to change from the old,ubiquitous and eye-squinting font, Times to the more modern and comfortable to read font, Trebuchet. I did some meticulous comparison among the several fonts available(Arial, Courier, Georgia, Helvetica, Times, Trebuchet and Verdana) before finally deciding on this one. Even my mom agrees Trebuchet is a lot better than the Times. You can see for yourself the huge difference between Times and Trebuchet in this post alone. Those two were the easiest to compare - the hardest is the semifinal round of comparison between Georgia and Trebuchet. At the end Trebuchet became my sole winner. Trebuchet is easier to read because of its generous spacing between words and reasonable letter size. Plus its easy to distinguish uppercase from lowercase letters.

I've also look back in my past and deleted a few old and 'immature' post. Just some old junk to clean mostly.
